Ryan Huang

Ryan Huang, 12 years old, a full scholar student in the Phil and Eli Taylor Academy under Dr. Michael Berkovsky. He has studied piano with Dr. Olga Chichova since the age of 6.

At such a young age, Ryan has already performed with numerous orchestras around the world, including, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra (Russia); Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra (China); Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra (Canada); The Royal Conservatory Orchestra (Canada); Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra (Canada); Tarnow Chamber Orchestra (Poland); T.I.M.M Chamber Orchestra (Italy). In June 2023, Ryan will be playing with Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra in the Wiener Konzerhaus as one of the four finalists of Classicalia Global Televised Music Competition in his age group.

Ryan is enthusiastic about performing. He performed in Isaac Stern Auditorium (main hall) at Carnegie Hall in New York City every year before the Covid. In July 2019, Ryan was invited by SMG (Shanghai Media Group) to play his first full length solo concert ‘Sounds of Summer by Ryan Huang’ in the prestigious Shanghai Symphony Hall. The tickets were sold out within three days.

Ryan is the Laureate of many prestigious international and national piano competition: 1st Prize, the XXII ‘The Nutcracker’ International Televised Music Competition in Moscow (Russia) ; Winner of the 2023 The Royal Conservatory of Music Taylor Academy Concerto Competition; Grand Prize, Canadian Music Competition (Canada) 7-10 yrs; Overall Prize/Grand Prize, Steinway Junior Piano Competition in both 2020 and 2019; 2nd Prize, the 27th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth (Poland); 1st Prize, the Young Euregio Piano Award IPC (Germany) ;1st Prize, WPTA International Piano Competition (Finland) ; 2nd Prize, Cesar Frank International Piano Competition (Belgium); 3rd prize, II Jeune Chopin International Piano Competition (Switzerland); Most promising young pianist award and Third prize, San Jose International Piano Competition (USA); Grand

Prize ,and the ONLY contestant across all instruments and all ages that was offered to perform with The Moscow Symphony Orchestra in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Sound Espressivo International Live Competition. (USA); Grand Prize (Signatory Award), GOCAA International Competition (USA); Grand Prize, The future Star International Piano Competition by Connecticut Chopin Foundation (USA) ; First Prize, Grand Prix -Rising Star International Music Competition (Germany) , etc.

Recently Ryan was selected as one of the 16 semi-finalist of the prestigious Cleveland International Youth Piano Competition in 2023, Competition is currently on-going.
Additionally Ryan has been admitted attending Morningside Music Bridge as the youngest piano full scholar in summer 2023 in the New England Conservatory.

Ryan has attended many interviews or educational program as guest speaker. Recently he was invited by the Education Department of Newfoundland and Labrador as the guest speaker for an educational program for all K- 12 public school students and teachers. Previously he has been interviewed as a music prodigy by many medias such as CBC News, PBS, RTR (Russian Television and Radio), Poland National TV, Cogeco, Your TV, Phoenix TV, Oakville News, Magazine ‘Neighbours’.etc.

Ryan also plays violin and French Horn. In addition to music, Ryan loves language arts and math. From grade 1 to 6, he was awarded every year the Outstanding Achievement Award, an award given to the student who achieves the highest academic accomplishments overall of each grade in his school. In UCC, he actively participates school activities. He acted the leading role in the school Musical, he is the editor of UCC News, and he plays French Horn in school band. He was admitted by John Hopkins University - Center for Talented Youth with Highest Awards for both math and language arts. He has been a member of Mensa International since age 7. In leisure time, he likes coding, playing chess and hockey for the Oakville Rangers Organization, and reading.
