On the afternoon of March 4, Canadian Member of Parliament Majid Jowhari presented Karen Kuang Tongfei of the Canada Children’s Broadcasting Arts Group with the Coronation Badge and Certificate of His Majesty King Charles III, Head of State of Canada and the current King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

This honour recognizes Karen’s decade-long dedication to charitable work and continuous service to the community. Her efforts have provided local Chinese-Canadian youth with platforms for learning, cultural exchange, and self-expression. She has made outstanding contributions to fostering Canada-China cultural and artistic exchange, enriching Canada’s multicultural development, and promoting unity among Canada’s diverse ethnic communities.

Originally from Qingdao, Karen Kuang is the founder and first director of the Canada Children’s Broadcasting Arts Group and now serves as its Lifetime Honorary Director. In December 2024, she was admitted to Berklee College of Music in the United States and will begin her university journey this September.

During her five-year tenure with the arts group, Karen Kuang actively led youth and children in various charitable and public service initiatives, encouraging them to use their unique strengths to give back to the community. She organized fundraising efforts for charities, seniors’ homes, and children with autism, and frequently held events aimed at fostering understanding and communication among young people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Her work has contributed meaningfully to the development of multiculturalism in Canadian society. Karen has also participated in numerous volunteer activities with a spirit of selfless dedication and is recognized as an outstanding volunteer and organizer for events within MP Majid Jowhari’s team.



Karen Kuang was previously awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022, making her the youngest recipient of this prestigious honour.
